Aphra and Co.

It is common knowledge that no one Convention can make it without a bonified mascot. And here began the first epic problem for Animaritime. A true mascot is made of tough stuff! They are stealthy, cunning, and all out hard to obtain! Where does one find a mascot? What do they eat? How does one approach this treasure or keep them happy? Do you need to use tranquilizers??

Apparently not. As the staff quickly discovered, it takes a lot of time and a whole lot of pocky to obtain the elusive mascot figure. Fortunately, Animaritime had just enough know how -and pocky- to get the job done.

There is, some might say, a certain amount of charm -and a little bit of luck- required to rope in a good Mascot. In the case of Animaritime more of the latter was involved. Aphra and Co., have now settled themselves in quite comfortably as the local mascots. As a forewarning, when threatened by other mascots they have been known to set loose rather large mechanical monsters. While they are quite confident in their position there is a constant battle to keep them from running amok (space pirates: not easy to keep in one spot). When inquired as to their current situation, the leader of the pack admitted, "Its alright. A little cold, but the company is good, and it beats eating space-ramen all the time...though the smell can get a little funky."

There isn't much these mascots have not seen. Roaming in the land of the wild Otaku is not for the feint of heart; but clearly this is an occasion that these space pirate-mascots have risen to with gusto and, as long as there is a plentiful supply of Pocky -and the occasional adventure- these mascots say they are here to stay.
