Official Animaritime Hotel Block Update

Hello everyone,

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for their amazing support of our move to Fredericton! We certainly had our worries and concerns that it would just be too far for some people, but every time we worry about our convention, our attendees remind us just how awesome they are.

Some of you have expressed concern that the official hotel for the convention, the Lord Beaverbrook Crown Plaza is full. I just spoke with the good people at the hotel bookings center, and as of my writing this post I can say that the room block is not full - but it will be soon. When I got off the phone I was told that there are still 3 rooms with two queen sized beds and 1 room with a king sized bed still available. After that they have no more rooms for our block, and no more rooms in the hotel. If you want to book one of these final rooms, you can do so through their online booking system (at https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=9757227). There are some other rooms still available for people who are only staying on Friday night or Sunday night, but those are not part of our room block and should be booked normally with the hotel. Just to re-iterate, Saturday is sold out entirely.

With that being said, I believe - and am in the process of confirming - that there are still rooms available in the Lady Dunn building on the UNB campus for as low as $34+tax per night for a single room. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in pursuing I encourage you to book a room through their online booking system (at http://www.unb.ca/fredericton/conferenceservices/accommodations/hotel/to...). But for those who don't want to stay in a UNB dorm for whatever reason rest assured that the staff at Animaritime are working hard to find other accomodations. We'd never leave our incredible attendees without a roof!

I can't give any details just yet, but we are exploring options for secondary hotel rooms close to the convention center. When I have more detail, I'll be sure to post it on the Facebook page and as a news article on our website http://www.animaritime.org.

Thank you for all of your generous support and in assisting us in making Animaritime 2013 another unbelievable year of fun and fans!
